technology overview

Cytopia's strengths are in structural biology of kinases, computer-assisted rational drug design, screening and medicinal chemistry. Our proprietary in silico modeling algorithms have been benchmarked to meet or exceed state of the art modeling programs and have yielded highly specific and potent drug candidates for kinase targets. The first of these internally generated drug compounds is a tubulin inhibitor that has rapidly advanced to human clinical trials for cancer.

Technology Overview

Cytopia has established an integrative drug discovery capability built upon a leading position in the area of intracellular signal transduction, particularly in the area of kinases.

Our technology comprises:

  • A purpose built Computational Chemistry Platform, "ChemaPhore", which out-performs other commercially available tools for in silico screening;
  • A well established medicinal chemistry laboratory, equipped with parallel synthesis capability;
  • A high-throughput screening facility, capable of an extensive range of fluorescence-based enzyme assays and high-content cell-based assays;
  • A domain-based structural biology programme;
  • A molecular biology laboratory with proteomics and genomics capability.

Cytopia has implemented a broad discovery program targeting protein kinases, particularly Protein Tyrosine Kinases (PTKs). This program generates a matrix of data, leading to an understanding of the chemical structures which determine specificity and potency against multiple targets. In this way, Cytopia is discovering and developing a rich pipeline of drug candidates for a broad range of clinical needs.
